Marakanda Expedition invites you to the 4th annual international tourist expedition along the roads of Alexander the Great.  Members of the expedition of the tour will make a journey around the ancient lands of Sogdiana and Northern Bactria, will pass routes of Macedonian King and his troops,  will visit the ancient cities (Marakanda, Basilea, Xenippa, Nautaka, Baga, Alexandria on Oxus) and the fortresses in the valley of Zarafshan (Politimeta), in the foothills and mountain valleys of Zarafshan and Gissar ridges, ancient ports in the North ofAmudarya (Oxus), get acquainted with the main monuments of the Hellenistic period. The terms of participation

 

             Group format  is a participation in a tourist group from one country (minimum – 10 people). Attracting tourists from a particular country on an expedition is  possible through tourist partner agencies in these countries. A group is provided with a native  language interpreter. Depending on the group size are available additional free vacancies (excluding international flights and payment for visa) per a country:

10 people or more – 1 free place for the group leader;

20 or more people – 2 free places – for the group leader and for a  scientific consultant;

 – 30 or more people – 3 free places – for the group leader, a scientific

consultant and a photojournalist.

The candidates for a group  leaders, academic consultants or photojournalists  are to be chosen by the general agent in the country.

Individual format  is  a participation in the expedition in a mixed group of tourists from different countries, registered at www.marakanda.net site.

The working languages ​​for mixed groups – English and Russian

The cost of participation in the expedition (the tour price)

            Tour price is 1500 Eu (8 days / 8 nights).

Tour price includes:

– Visa support, excluding the visa fee payment;

– Meeting / seeing off at the airport;

– Accommodation in 2-bed rooms in hotels (**** – Tashkent, Samarkand *** – Bukhara, Shakhrisabz, Termez);

– Meals (full board);

– Transport service (car, train) according to the program;

– Service of a guide-interpreter;

– Provision with information materials for the expedition;

– Entrance tickets to the monuments and museums;

– Mineral water (1 liter per a person each day.).

Tour price does not include the following:

– Payment for international flights;

– Personal expenses, except for the above mentioned

– The cost of alcoholic beverages;

– Photo and video fees at the sites.

Discounts  

Researchers, teachers, students of profile disciplines (historians, archaeologists, art historians) have a 20 per cent discount for participation in the expedition.
